Cam’s primary research interest was in ascertaining and optimizing T cell physiology within the tumor microenvironment. After completing her B.A. in Biology from the University of Pennsylvania in 2021, Cam shifted her research focus into translational cancer therapies and has worked alongside Dr. Eil to identify ionic requirements of durable anti-tumor CD8+ T cells, culminating in a 2024 publication (PMID: 38063845). During her time in the Eil lab she worked to apply these findings toward meaningful cell therapies, engineering CD8+ T cells to outstep the peculiar ionic rigors of the tumor microenvironment.
